It is with great sorrow that we announce the loss of an Orange Village “family” member, Orange Village Firefighter/Advanced EMT John Prochazka. John was the longest serving member on the Orange Village Fire Department and a lifelong resident of Orange Village. Firefighter / Advanced EMT John Prochazka was hired in November of 1981. Since that time John rose to the challenge and kept up with the ever-changing world of fire and EMS.

John died unexpectedly and the loss was felt by everyone at Orange Village including many residents that knew John. John was also the owner of JP Plumbing which serves the greater Cleveland area. John’s customers included nearly every member of the Fire Department who called on him when experiencing some sort of plumbing related emergency. It never mattered if it was 1am or a holiday, John always jumped into his truck to assist his brother and sister firefighters. Responding in times of crisis became John’s calling whether it was for a plumbing emergency or when a resident called 911 when he was on duty at the Orange Village Fire Department.

Our deepest sympathy to John’s family and friends. He will truly be missed.
