Leaf Collection ends on November 25th*

Orange Village Service Department collects leaves and turns them into a rich compost that can be added to gardens and soil. This compost will be delivered back to residents. You may begin to place your request for the leaf humus in March.

How To Place Leaves for Pickup

  • Leaves should be placed close to the edge of the road. They should not extend into the road.
  • Remember to keep catch basins and ditches clear of debris to reduce flooding.
  • If you have a sidewalk or recreational trail, please do not place leaves on the sidewalk or trail.
  • Leaves should be in a long row no farther off the road than 8 feet. Leaves that are placed farther than 8 feet from the road will not be picked up.
  • Do not mix branches or foreign objects with the leaves. This can cause damage to the machine.

The Service Department follows a specific route through the village and there is no specific day for pickup. Depending on the amount of leaves to be collected the crews may travel this route at least 10 times during the leaf collection period.

*If you are using a landscaper, it is your responsibility  to notify them of the last day of leaf collection.
