June 19^th  marks Juneteenth or Emancipation Day. This day in 1865 Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger and Union troops arrived in Galveston, Tx and brought news that the American Civil War had ended and enslaved people were now free.

This is a federal holiday and will be observed on Monday, June 20^th.

Orange Village Hall will be OPEN and trash/recycling WILL NOT be affected.
