AUTOMOBILE TAMPERING AND THEFTS!

Although Orange Village has not been affected by these issues, neighboring communities have had vehicles stolen and valuables stolen from inside.  A BIG thank you to all Orange Village residents for taking the time to LOCK cars, garages, and homes!!

In each incident, valuables were taken from UNLOCKED cars and the CAR itself was TAKEN when the keys were PRESENT. The vehicles key fob CANNOT be left inside. The vehicle will start if the fob is present and the start button is pressed. This is often the first thing attempted by would-be thieves.

Please continue to REMOVE any valuable items from your vehicle and LOCK any unattended vehicle, no matter what time of day. It is also important to lock your garages and homes.

Most of the time these thieves simply move on to unsecured vehicles and doors without forcing entry. An ounce of prevention is way better than a pound of investigation.
