Orange Village Police Department reminds residents and visitors of the overnight parking ban, Codified Ordinance #351.03. No person shall park a vehicle on a public street between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. or any time when snowfall exceeds two inches. Enforcement of this ban is necessary for a multiple reasons including:
Prevention of street usage for vehicle storage
Assist the police department with detection of and the possible deterrence of criminal activity
Safe passage of motorists and early morning deliveries
Efficient removal of abandoned vehicles
Assist the service department during snow removal operations
Parking Ban – 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Officers will place a warning citation on the windshield of any vehicle found on the street between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. The warning will include the Codified Ordinance number and language. If the same vehicle is found on the street a second time, between the hours stated above, a parking citation will be placed on the windshield. The fine for this violation is $25 if paid within 30 days and will increase to $125 if paid after 30 days.
Parking Ban – Snowfall exceeds two inches
This law enables the service department to clear snow from the streets allowing everyone including emergency vehicles the ability to move through the Village safely. This ban remains in effect for 24 hours or until the end of the snow event and the streets have been cleared. If there is a forecast of heavy snow, please consider removing the vehicle from the street in advance.
If you have overnight guests or are having work done, you may contact Orange Village Police Department during normal business hours at 440-498-4401 and request an exemption. Exemptions are only temporary and must be renewed by calling each day you need one.
Our hope is to clear village roads nightly with a friendly warning and compliance. We hope to do this without issuing citations.
