The Cuyahoga County Department of Sustainability has partnered with the nonprofit Solar United Neighbors of Ohio to bring home and business owners an opportunity to save on the cost ofgoing solar. Members of the Cuyahoga County Solar Co-op can realize a 10%-20% savings by making a bulk purchase from solar installers. They build the Co-op by holding information sessions all over the county. When the Co-op reaches sufficient size, bids are solicited from dozens of installers. Co-op members choose democratically from among these bids. There is no obligation and members may quit at any time.

The first step is to attend an information session in a community near you. There you will lean the history, technical aspects, tax advantages and financial options connected with solar power. Our next meetings will take place at Parma Heights City Hall 6281 Pearl Road on Wednesday February 12 at 6pm and at Orange Village Hall 4600 Lander Road on Thursday February 13 also at 6pm.

Take advantage of this opportunity to learn about this emerging green technology without having to sit thru a high pressure sales pitch.
