6. Old Business Discussion of Pending Legislation
A. ORDINANCE 2009-4
An Ordinance amending Section 121.04 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village to set the
Mayor’s compensation and repealing certain ordinances. 3rd Reading – Public Hearing
July 8, 2009 at 8 p.m. Ordinance 2009-4 will remain on the agenda at Regular Council Meeting
with no reading. Suggested this issue be presented at the next Charter Review Committee
for an amendment.
B. ORDINANCE 2009-5
An Ordinance amending Section 111.03 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village to set the
compensation of the Orange Village Council. 3rd Reading – Public Hearing July 8, 2009 at 8:01 p.m.
Ordinance 2009-5 will remain on the agenda at Regular Council Meeting with no reading.
C. ORDINANCE 2009-6
An Ordinance approving a final subdivision plat for the Lakes of Orange Subdivision, accepting a
dedication for public use of Orange Lake Drive, Lake Placid Court North, Lake Placid Court South,
and those portions of the subdivision lying within the bounds of Brainard Road as shown on the plat,
for property owned by Lakes of Orange, LLC, authorizing the endorsement thereof “for dedication
purposes only.” And authorizing improvements in accordance therewith. Referred to P & Z - Approved by
Planning and Zoning - 3rd Reading.
D. ORDINANCE 2009-9
An Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into an amendment to the Service Agreement with the
Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District to provide for membership in the Suburban Council of Governments,
and declaring an emergency. 2nd Reading - want to remove “and declaring an emergency.”
E. ORDINANCE 2009-12
An Ordinance supplementing the Codified Ordinances of Orange Village by enacting new Section 331.44
relating to Vehicle Idle Reduction. 2nd Reading. No definition of idling in ordinance. Law Director does not
recommend passage. Law Director would like to look at Cleveland’s Ordinance that has recently passed.
Police Department will look over Ordinance and advise Council.
7. New Business Discussion of New Legislation and Motions
A. ORDINANCE 2009-13
An Ordinance amending Section 143.01 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village and changing the composition
of the Police Department by establishing the position of Executive Lieutenant, and declaring an emergency.
1st Reading – Will have Executive Session on this issue next week.
B. ORDINANCE 2009-14
An Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to accept an easement from Lakes of Orange, LLC for the installation and
maintenance of a water main for the purpose of supplying water service to the Lakes of Orange subdivision. 1st Reading
