The Orange Village Police Department has a FREE Citizen Academy
for residents to come meet their police officers and learn how we operate along with emphasis on Safety and Awareness.
The Orange Village Police Department Citizen Police
Academy, which is free to all residents (21 years of age and older), is a crime prevention/
informational program specifically designed for adults. The program's curriculum
covers subjects such as crime
prevention, safety, victim
awareness, and includes other
informational topics, as well.
Upon completion of this program, participants should have
an understanding of the operation of the OV Police Department and an awareness of
crime and its victims.
This ten week program meets Thursdays from 1:00pm-3:00pm in the Woodell Room
at Village Hall. Various topics include
- PD
Professional Standards
- Ethics and Liability
- Crime Prevention
- Criminal Investigation
- Dispatch and Communication
- Domestic Violence
- Fire Prevention
- The Criminal Justice System
- and CPR Instruction.
The group will also visit the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Richfield.
Orange Village residents and/or
business owners are given
first priority, the first session
had 13 students.
