Do Not Knock

Orange Village Ordinance #2018-47 effective January 2, 2019, allows residents to add their property to a “Do Not Knock Registry” in order to protect your home from unwanted solicitation. The list will be kept by the Orange Village Police Department and made available to anyone that requests it and all solicitors that register with the police department to go door to door. This list will advise the person of the properties who do not wish to receive uninvited guests, thus stopping prior to entering onto your property.

It will be a violation of the law for the person to knock on the door or ring the doorbell of any property that is registered on the “Do Not Knock Registry” or that has a sign which reads “Canvassers and Peddlers PROHIBITED. Click here for more information.

The registry will expire on January 1 of every odd-numbered year. At that time, the owners or occupants will need to re-register to have their property on the list. The Village will provide a notice of this expiration, if you provide your email address at time of sign up, but the obligation to be aware of the expiration will be on the owner or the occupant of the property.

Please click here to sign up for the Do Not Knock registry.
