Brian Hitt, Chairman Pro-Tem called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.

Members Present:	Carmen Centanni, Anthony Lazar, Scott Lewis, John Terlep, Jud Kline and
			Brian Hitt.

Members Absent:	Mayor Kathy Mulcahy

#3	PRESENTATION					- Amy Brennan
							- Chagrin River Watershed Program
“The Chagrin River Watershed Balanced Growth Plan”
A 20-minute presentation was made by Amy Brennan.  Topics included conservation and developing areas 
in the Chagrin River Watershed.  (PowerPoint hard-copy on file)

#4	REPORT & RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL (RESOLUTION 2008-3)

	A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CHAGRIN RIVER WATERSHED BALANCED GROWTH 
PLAN IN COOPERATION WITH THE OHIO LAKE ERIE COMMISSIONER’S BALANCED GROWTH PROGRAM.

PZ Discussion:  Motion to recommend was made by Centanni; seconded by Lewis.

Ayes:	Centanni, Lazar, Lewis and Hitt
No:	None

Note: 	Terlep and Kline (ABR members) are in support of this resolution.



#5	BUILDING COMMISSIONER’S REPORT

·	Tables have been removed from the Diner (28149 Miles Road).
·	Mr. Mooney (Mooney’s Gas Station, 27000 Chagrin Blvd.) has picked up a permit for the canopy.  
	He is also getting a structural engineer to evaluate the existing beams.
·	Goldfarb’s house/Merrill Lynch owned (3969 Beechmont Trail) is being painted by Merrill Lynch.
·	Lou is currently working on the ISO report.  Lou requested (as part of the ISO report) that the 
	board members report to him any number of hours they have earned for ‘continuing education’ 
	classes for the year 2007.

#6	ANY OTHER TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION

·	Ron Kluchin inquired about the roof at 3969 Beechmont Trail.  Per Lou, a structural engineer’s 
	report stated that the house and roof are structurally sound.  There is however a bad section on 
	the roof in the rear portion (near the skylight) which will need to be repaired.  
·	Ron Kluchin inquired whether there was mold present at 3969 Beechmont Trail.  Lou stated that 
	the Building Department is not privileged to the various report results. 
·	Jud Kline inquired about the damage done to the entryway of The Barkley Pet Hotel building 
	(27349 Miles Road) and if it had been repaired.  
·	Jud Kline commented on issues related to the retention area.  Lou said, they have fixed the retention 
	area and the engineer has approved the same.  Lou also mentioned the erosion issues from last spring 
	have not been addressed yet.  The board members commented that the landscaping has been cleaned up.
·	Jud Kline suggested Orange Village consider investigating the potential to develop sustainable building 
	standards for the community which could be applied as an overlay to the zoning codes.  He proposed 
	the possibility of an Ad Hoc Committee being formed to investigate this strategy.
·	Carmen Centanni talked about an article on the proposed new fee schedule.  


Motion to approve the minutes of the August 5, 2008 meeting was made by Centanni; seconded by Kline.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:35 pm.
