MINUTES


Mayor Mulcahy called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.

Members Present:	Anthony Lazar, Jud Kline, Scott Lewis, Herb Braverman, Brian Hitt,
			Mayor Kathy Mulcahy

Members Absent:	None

PZ/ABR Discussion:  Joint motion to approve subject to the footers being dug
down to the frost line (42 inches), and with the siding and roofing materials to match 
the existing house was made by Hitt; seconded by Lewis.

PZ/ABR Discussion:   Board members discussed the sign variance granted to LJI 
Collision Center and the Village Planner’s report on the sign variance.  Joint motion 
to approve subject to the actual square footage of the sign with minor protrusions discounted 
is 63 square feet, based on calculations determined by David Hartt on his report 
referenced May 4, 2011, and revised May 27, 2011, attach Conclusions of Face 
and David Hartt’s letter to the Ordinance and file together was made be Lewis; seconded by Kline.

#3	DISCUSSION ONLY			
						- Carl Hagerling, Owner & Representative
						- 4939	E. Woodcrest Dr.
	NEW DWELLING

Mr. Hagerling brought new plans for a demolition of the existing house and construction of 
a new house located at 4939 E. Woodcrest Drive for discussion.  It was learned that a 
variance would be needed for this new, proposed dwelling; and the old 
variance (Ordinance No. 2010-8) would not apply to this new submittal as Ordinance No. 
2010-8 was specific to the plans on file with the Building Commissioner for a remodel of 
an existing home.  Rebecca Schaltenbrand will check with Steve Byron to see if any other 
options are available.  The Mayor also asked Jud Kline to discuss these issues with the 
Law Department.   Mr. Hagerling would like to see supporting documentation 
that supports the argument that his current variance is not valid if he builds a new house. 
Otherwise, the Board Members commented positively on the draft reliminary plans for 
the proposed new home construction.  



#4	BUILDING COMMISSIONER’S REPORT
·	There has been a recent issue with Ken Jaryga claiming that Scott Joseph
	 (300 Capitol Hill Circle) is encroaching on his father’s property (4850 Lander Road) 	
	with a fence and putting brush and other things in the rear portion of the property.
·	Lou attended a meeting with Fire Chief White regarding the hoarding issues in Orange Village.
·	Bahama Breeze is having roofing issues, and false alarms going off.
·	3870 Waterford Court (s/l 2) is participating in the ‘Parade of Homes’.


#5	ANY OTHER TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION

·	Per Ron Kluchin, the 2nd meeting has taken place regarding the options for ‘site and 
	orientation of building’ for the Service Department building.  The next 	meeting will be 
	on July 6th with the Service Director and Bialosky Architects.  
·	Presently there is mounding been placed on the edges of the property at 4680 Lander Road.
·	Jud Kline recently went to New Orleans and received a National Honor along with 104 other inductees.
