MINUTES
Mayor Kathy Mulcahy called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.
Members Present: Anthony Lazar (arrived 7:35 pm), Jud Kline, John Terlep, Herb Braverman,
Scott Lewis, Brian Hitt, Mayor Kathy Mulcahy

PZ/ABR Discussion: Joint motion to approve was made by Hitt; seconded by Lewis.

PZ/ABR Discussion: Mr. Szolnoky was made aware the Orange Village Code requires storage sheds
are required to be placed on a concrete slab with a 12” turned-down edge. Mr. Szolnoky noted he was not
aware of this requirement, but believes his contractor was planning on placing the building on a foundation.
Mr. Szolnoky indicated he would like to install footers instead of the slab. The proponent noted he would
speak to his contractor to see determine what was actually intended, what are his options and then get
back to the building department with the required documentation.
No Action Taken.

· Tom Shields is sending out high-grass letters to residents.
· Per Jud Kline, the new construction house located at 29900 Emery Road will be an ICF house and
is pursuing the Orange Goes Green Certification program. The contractor (Alan Brown, Premier Builders) has also
acquired the remaining adjacent buildable lots on Emery Road and plans to make it a “green subdivision”.
Jud Kline and Alan Brown were both interviewed by The Plain Dealer and a newspaper article will be
printed on May 16th about the ‘green initiative’.
· Herb Braverman is working on getting a fence installed for Herb’s Community Garden.
Motion to approve the minutes of the April 20, 2010 meeting was made by Terlep; seconded by Kline.
