MINUTES
Mayor Kathy Mulcahy called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.
Members Present: Anthony Lazar, Jud Kline, Scott Lewis, Herb Braverman, Brian Hitt

Mayor Mulcahy announced that Scott Lewis was re-appointed by Council
as a member of the PZ/ABR Board and administered the oath of office to Mr. Lewis.

PZ/ABR Discussion: Joint motion to approve subject to landscaping
(to be approved by the Building Commissioner and the Village Architect) being installed
at the base of each sign (one located at Chagrin Blvd curb cut and one located at the
Orange Place curb cut) and the footers to be 42 inches deep was made by Mayor Mulcahy;
seconded by Lewis.

PZ/ABR Discussion: Joint motion to approve was made by Mayor Mulcahy; seconded by Lazar.

#3 REPORT & RECOMMENDATION, ORDINANCE 2011-12
An Ordinance granting a sign size variance to Lakeshore Learning Store, located at
27450 Chagrin Blvd.
Representative: Jack Roy, Lakeshore Learning Store
Jack Roy was sworn in by Asst. Law Director, Rebecca Schaltenbrand.
PZ Discussion: Mr. Roy presented the plans for the proposed sign. The Board discussed
the sign parameters for the Chagrin Boulevard Shopping Center. The Board concluded that
additional information was needed from the applicant or the Chagrin Boulevard Shopping
Center about any sign plan that may have been approved by the Village. It was also noted
that the proposed sign and variance application will be forwarded to the Village Planner,
David Hartt, for review.

#4 BUILDING COMMISSIONER’S REPORT
· LJI Collision Center should be opening next week, on a temporary basis.
· Lakeshore Learning Store is still waiting on the delivery of the cabinets.
· The Building Department stopped the interior remodel project at FedEx, as
they were working without a permit.
· The Building Department has not received a variance application for the
gas station at the corner of Miles & Brainard Roads.
#5 ANY OTHER TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION
· Recently, the Mayor has had 3 meetings regarding development in
Orange Village.
Two inquiries were regarding the Weintraub property, and 1 inquiry was
for the Pine Crest Development.
· Council has approved the engagement for Bialosky Architects to do
the planning for the Service Department.
· There will be an auction on May 7th to sell the surplus items which
were left behind by the Diocese/St. Margaret of Hungary Church.
Motion to approve the Minutes of the April 5, 2011 meeting was made by Braverman;
seconded by Kline.
