MINUTES Mayor Mulcahy called the meeting to order at 7:32 pm. Members Present: Carmen Centanni, Jonathan Shanes, Ed Salim, Brian Hitt, John Terlep, Jud Kline and Mayor Kathy Mulcahy Members Absent: None Others Present: Stephen Byron, Law Director Lou Hovancsek, Building Commissioner Ron Kluchin, Village Architect Oath of Office, Ronald Kluchin – Village Architect No Action Taken until Council makes a Confirmation of Appointment #1 DISCUSSION - Dan & Kay Lawson, Owner (Addition) - 28699 Harvard Rd. - Calvin Singleton, Architect, Representative Present: Dan and Kay Lawson, Owner Calvin Singleton, Architect Eddy Murphy, Contractor - Showed slides of existing, ranch-style house - Would like to add a second floor to main house, with 4 bedrooms - Change stone, remove siding, use stucco - Sides of house that are brick would remain - Ron Kluchin suggested making the support posts stone, rather than pillars - Discussion ensued regarding consistency of windows on all sides #2 LOT CONSOLIDATION - Carl Brooker & Carla Nazelli, Owner - 28999 Emery Rd. - Carl Brooker & Carla Nazelli, Representatives Present: Carl Brooker PZ Discussion: Motion to approve was made by Mulcahy; seconded by Hitt. Ayes: Centanni, Shanes, Hitt, Salim and Mulcahy No: None #3 LANDSCAPING - AT&T (Cabinet Screening) - Corner of 4989 Lander Rd. & Miles Rd. - Tom Fogarty, AT&T, Representative Present: Joe Kilcoyne Discussion was had as to who will maintain the landscaped area. It was decided that the Orange Village Service Department will maintain the area. AT&T will get together with Bruce White and Lou Hovancsek to discuss the visibility problem when AT&T trucks service the cabinet. No Action Taken #4 REPORT & RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL: (ORDINANCE # 2007-6) AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A FRONT YARD VARIANCE TO MR. AND MRS. PAUL TAKACH AT 29250 PIKE DRIVE. PZ Discussion: Motion to recommend was made by Shanes; seconded by Hitt. Ayes: Centanni, Shanes, Hitt, Salim and Mulcahy No: None #5 REPORT & RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL: (ORDINANCE #2007-3) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1170.05 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF ORANGE VILLAGE, TO REGULATE THE HEIGHT OF FENCES IN CERTAIN DISTRICTS, AND REPEALING CERTAIN ORDINANCES. PZ Discussion: Motion to recommend was made by Hitt; seconded by Shanes. Ayes: Centanni, Shanes, Hitt, Salim and Mulcahy No: None #6 BUILDING COMMISSIONER’S REPORT -Lou will be on vacation from March 19th through March 26th. He will return to work on Tuesday, March 27th. -The Building Department is working on updating the fee schedule. It has not been updated in ten years. Orange Village will then be in line with surrounding communities. -Mrs. Anderson’s home (4320 Lander Rd.) is being demolished on March 21st. The bank has foreclosed on the dwelling but has not filed the deed with the County Recorder. An affidavit of fact will be filed with Cuyahoga County by Orange Village. Orange Village is working with County Services for placement of Mrs. Anderson. -The Barkley Pet Hotel and Day Spa is open. Gary Helf (Grounds Contractor) is working on field work. A bond has been posted. #7 ANY OTHER TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION None Motion to approve the minutes of the February 6, 2007 meeting was made by Centanni; seconded by Shanes.
