MINUTES Mayor Mulcahy called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm. Members Present: Carmen Centanni, Jonathan Shanes, Brian Hitt, Ed Salim, John Terlep and Mayor Kathy Mulcahy Members Absent: Jud Kline Others Present: Stephen Byron, Law Director Lou Hovancsek, Building Commissioner Ron Kluchin, Village Architect #1 FENCE - Judith Simon & Pedro Diaz, Owner - 150 W. Orange Hill Circle - Pedro Diaz, Representative Present: Judy Simon & Pedro Diaz PZ/ABR Discussion: Joint motion to approve with gates as shown on plans was made by Hitt; seconded by Salim. Ayes: Centanni, Shanes, Hitt, Salim, Terlep and Mulcahy No: None #2 SHED - Deborah Klein, Owner - 29899 Smithfield Rd. - Deborah & Ron Klein, Representative Present: Ron Klein PZ/ABR Discussion: Joint motion to approve subject to compliance of the Village Architect's letter dated December 1, 2006 and receipt of documentation from an engineer which includes property setbacks and placement of shed was made by Salim; seconded by Shanes. Ayes: Centanni, Shanes, Hitt, Salim, Terlep and Mulcahy No: None #3 ADDITION - Tom & Kim Demko, Owner - 4100 Lander Rd. - Artistic Renovations, LLC - Peter Lehrer, Representative Present: Kim Demko and Peter Lehrer PZ/ABR Discussion: Joint motion to approve subject to the addition colors matching the existing house and compliance of the Village Engineer's comments was made by Hitt; seconded by Terlep. Ayes: Centanni, Shanes, Hitt, Salim, Terlep and Mulcahy No: None #4 ADDITION - Christopher Nassif, Owner - 3939 Beechmont Tr. - J.B.A.C. Ayes: Centanni, Shanes, Hitt, Salim, Terlep and Mulcahy No: None #5 ADDITION WITHDREW 12-1-06 - Dae Kim, Owner - 28749 Jackson Rd. - BHC Siding Remodeling Co. - Albert Ham, Representative No Action Taken #6 & #7 NEW DWELLINGS - Villas of Orange - 275 Blossom Ln. - 285 Blossom Ln Present: Randy Kertesz - Randy Kertesz, Representative PZ/ABR Discussion: Joint motion to approve both dwellings was made by Hitt; seconded by Salim. Ayes: Centanni, Shanes, Hitt, Salim, Terlep and Mulcahy No: None #8 REPORT & RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL: (ORDINANCE #2006-50) An ordinance finding that the use of the property at 27099 Miles Road for a crematorium, in conjunction with an existing funeral home, is a similar, harmonious and compatible use with the other permitted uses in a U-4 local retail business districts. Francis Corrigan, Kim and Jim Price were present in the audience. PZ Discussion: Motion to recommend to Council was made by Hitt; seconded by Salim. Ayes: Hitt and Salim No: Centanni, Shanes and Mulcahy Motion defeated. #9 DISCUSSION - Stephen Hovancsek & Associates Site Selection for Service Department - Brian Mader Brian Mader presented a map and showed 7 possible site locations within the Village Park property. Discussion was had on building visibility, trees to be cut, topography and wetlands, ball diamond relocation possibilities, effect on Pike Drive, etc. Vote on site locations: Carmen Centanni #5 & 6½ Brian Mader #5 Jonathan Shanes #5 Lou Hovancsek #7 Brian Hitt #5 & #1 Ron Kluchin #5 Ed Salim #5 John Terlep #5 Mayor Mulcahy #5 & 6½ #10 BUILDING COMMISSIONER'S REPORT · Ron Kluchin and Lou Hovancsek are working on updating procedures for the Building Department. · Lou has talked with Henle Builders regarding the Beechmont Country Club Addition/Renovation project. Henle Builders will be the general contractor and soon will pick up the permit. · A Woodmere resident's contractor damaged 3860 and 3850 Wild Cherry's back yard landscaping and took some trees down. · The T-Mobile drawings have been approved. The Mayor will need to approve the contract before they have access to the cell tower on Village property. · The Dukes (White Oak Trail) were issued a violation letter to take down the finials or raise the grade so that their new fence is less than 6 feet. · The Barkley Pet Hotel & Day Spa has failed an 'air test' for the plumbing. Lou will recheck this. The parking lot has been paved. The Barkley is hoping for a February 2007 occupancy. #11 ANY OTHER TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION Motion to approve the minutes as amended of November 21, 2006 was made by Centanni; seconded by Hitt. Ayes: Centanni, Shanes, Hitt, Salim (#6-9), Terlep and Mulcahy No: None Abstain: Salim (#1-5) Corrections: #6, Add "no more than 4 (four) newspaper boxes" Roll Call: Delete "Brian Hitt and Ed Salim" from Members Absent. Instead, add: "Brian Hitt arrived at 7:50 pm and Ed Salim arrived at 8:15 pm".
