MINUTES

Mayor Kathy Mulcahy called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.

Members Present:
Anthony Lazar, Jud Kline, Herb Braverman, Scott Lewis, Brian Hitt, Mayor Kathy Mulcahy

Members Absent: None

Rebecca Schaltenbrand, Asst. Law Director

#1 COMMITTEE ORGANIZATION

Election of PZ/ABR Chairperson, open floor for nominations:
Mayor Kathy Mulcahy was nominated for Chairperson by Braverman; seconded by Hitt.
Additional calls for nominations, read twice.
A motion to close nominations and cast a ballot for Mayor Mulcahy as Chairperson
was made by Braverman; seconded by Hitt.

No: None

Election of PZ/ABR Chairperson Pro-tem -, open floor for nominations
Brian Hitt was nominated for Chairperson Pro-Tem by Lewis; seconded by Kline.

was made by Kline; seconded by Braverman.

Joint motion to approve subject to the following was made by Kline; seconded by Lewis.

1. Rooftop screening to be approved and new plans submitted,
2. Compliance to both the Architect and Plans Examiner’s review letter,
dated January 11, 2011 and January 14, 2011; respectively.

#3 REPORT & RECOMMENDATION, Ordinance 2011-2

AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SIDE YARD SETBACK VARIANCE TO VILLAS OF ORANGE, INC.
FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 420 BLOSSOM LANE, VILLAS OF ORANGE, LOT 41.

Present: Randy Kertesz, Jordan Berns, Roger Newburry, Steven Benza, Adam Treat,
Brian Lee, Mr. Romano, Dr. Carmen Centanni

Asst. Law Director Rebecca Schaltenbrand swore the above proponents and
Orange Village residents in.

PZ Discussion: An explanation of how this building error occurred and discussion was had
as to what penalties can or should be imposed. The Law Department will look into penalties,
including monetary for future incidents as this.

Motion to recommend was made by Braverman, seconded by Lewis.

#4 BUILDING COMMISSIONER’S REPORT

· The two new homes are still under construction. One is on Pike Drive and the other
is on Waterford Court. The electrician on Pike Drive changed all the wire in the
house to #12 gauge.
· Law department should look into adopting the 2011 National Electric Code.
· The interior of the old Saturn building (27100 Chagrin Blvd.) is currently
having some demolition work done.
· The Zeisler Morgan building (30000 Chagrin Blvd.) is still in process of the interior remodel.

#5 ANY OTHER TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION

None

Motion to approve the Minutes of the December 7, 2010 meeting with the following
correction, was made by Kline; seconded by Hitt.

· From the November 19, 2010 Minutes, add the words “in agenda” under:
#3, Report and Recommendation, Ordinance 2010-25
Change the word “collection” to “collision” in Agenda

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:50 pm.
